By the looks of this blog , 2010 and 2011 never happened… and while it has been a brisk blur of days becoming years, we have a paper trail (credit card statements, mostly) to prove that they did…
Circumstantial evidence shows that:
We adopted a dog in February 2011; Maximus the “Great” BIG 90 lb American Bulldog. Max is a friendly, furry, and flatulent addition to our family, and we can’t imagine life without him.
David turned the BIG 4-0 (in 2010!) and is balancing a busy life of managing preschoolers, prospecting (its not a hobby; its a lifestyle), and being a sole proprietor ( www.rubyphotography.com ).
Gavin celebrated his fourth birthday with his Grandma Dot (Ruby), Cousin Colt, Aunt Christine & Uncle Joey visiting us in Atlanta. Young Mr. Ruby has both a BIG personality AND moves like Jagger… if there were preschool superlatives, he would undoubtedly be named class clown. (see a majority of my facebook statuses for details)
Piper began preschool in 2010. She is eagerly counting the days to the “pink cake” that will messily mark the occasion of her third birthday (February 2nd). As she becomes more and more verbal, it oh-so evident that Little Miss Pip is a BIG sweetheart… she is a cuddle bug who loves having her back scratched (literally… for hours… this is a Radovich trait that must have skipped a generation with me), and she tells me everyday “you’re MY mini-me!”
As for me… I’m still trying to solve this BIG time flying by mystery. Same job, same size, same age of thirtysomething… not much has changed for me since my last post nearly 30 months ago. If it weren’t for social media timelines or those pesky credit card statements, I’d be convinced that it is still 2009 (and that my children have some sort of hyper-growth medical condition.) Fortunately, there’s proof that 2010 and 2011 didn’t just happen, but were very good years, and our family is happy, and most importantly, healthy…
So, here’s to a BIG 2012… and an even BIGGER attempt to stay on the grid (in terms of this blog, at least) in the year to come.
